Resident Evil 5 und Dawn of War 2 sind zwei Titel die ich mir definitiv über Amazon UK bestellen wollte.  Wenn ich mir das neue Video von Splatterhouse so anschaue dann wäre dies sicherlich auch ein Kandidat für die englische Niederlassung. Dabei geht es mir gar nicht mal in erster Linie um das Geld, sondern das ich eine englischsprachige uncut Version in meinen Händen halten darf. Ich stehe weder auf schlechte deutsche Syncros noch auf Blut in grün. Amazon UK machte mich im vergangen November verdammt glücklich: GoW2, Fallout 3 und Dead Space fanden den Weg zu mir. Schöne und einfache Sache. Amazon eben.

Am Sonntag musste ich aber leider feststellen, dass ich entweder zu doof zum bestellen bin oder Amazon irgendwas gedreht hat. Einfach so würde beim Checkout der Ware nicht die nachfolgende Fehlermeldung stehen:

*** We’re sorry. This item can’t be shipped to your selected destination. You may either change the shipping address or delete the item from your order by changing its quantity to 0 and clicking the update button below. ( See geographical restrictions.) ***

Im Internet konnte ich zu dem Problem auf die Schnelle nichts zu finden, also den Actionman angeschrieben wie das bei ihm aussieht. Der wiederum meldete zurück: Gleiches Problem! Da der MasteRehm nicht so schnell aufgibt, hat er dieses dann gleich mal an Amazon UK eskaliert.
Zurück kam die Antwort, die Stunden später auf mehreren Blogs zu lesen war:

In order to help you out this problem, I have forwarded this issue to the concern department. As this issue is widespread, our developers will be working on a solution. We appreciate your patience in this regard, once we receive an update we will get back to you within 4 business days February 12, 2009. These errors are normally fixed quite quickly; perhaps you could try again shortly. I can understand that this is a bit frustrating for being asked to wait. However, please note that this additional period will give us the time to take right actions upon the situation and will be able to make sure that this matter is resolved to your fullest satisfaction. I realize that at this point of time asking you to wait little longer would be disappointing, however, we would really like to correct this situation, in the hope that we can redeem ourselves. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused in this regard. Thank you for your patience and for bringing this matter to our attention.

Das beruhigte erst einmal. Ein Systemfehler der gefixt wird. Was wieder beunruhigte war der Artikel von Golem.de. Eine mögliche Liefersperre? Mal wieder die Schnauze voll von all den Gerüchten im Netz, setzte ich eine neue Mail an Amazon auf mit der Bitte um Klarheit bezüglich der Lieferung nach Deutschland. Als Antwort kam folgendes:

From your email, I understand that you are unable to place the orders to be delivered to Germany.
Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Unfortunately, at this moment this problem is more widespread and we do not exactly know when this issue will be rectified.
I have forwarded your details to our technical and transportation department to find out whether this issue is related due to the bug that arised in our software system or is there any change in the Amazon policies with regards to ordering items from Amazon.co.uk and to be delivered to Germany.
In this case, I would request you to wait a bit longer to get the issues resolved.
I can confirm that I will personally update you when we have an answer from our relevant departments.
We will contact you again within 3 to 5 business days with an update.

Und jetzt bin ich mal gespannt was bei der ganzen Sache unter dem Strich raus kommt. Alternativen gibt es, aber so gut, ohne irgendeinen Händler zu diskriminieren, wie Amazon werden diese nicht sein. Und eine Sache ist sicher: Das Ganze stinkt!
